Models, Models and More Models!
Working in the fashion industry means that I've worked with many, many models. It's funny seeing little, 5'2" Annie attempting to dress a 6'4" model but it's those lovely models I get to know that become the faces I love to run into during fashion week. Here are some of my favorite model friends!
Romee Strijd: A dutch model who is best known for being a Victoria's Secret Angel. I've crossed paths with her at many events, most recently at the Wardements x V Magazine presentation which was held at the V Magazine offices downtown. The models weren't getting paid because it was a fundraiser so many didn't actually show... Romee did. It's a testament to her character, I'm sure there were other events during her busy fashion week schedule which would have paid her quite a bit of money had she attended but she chose to support the cause and take the pay cut. She's as good as it gets when it comes to models, professional and kind to everyone. It's always a pleasant experience to work with her!
Gisele Alicea: As a model, singer and actress Gisele can do it all. She has an incredible story, as a successful transgender, latina model she has broken down SO many barriers within the fashion industry. From a campaign that ran with Barney's to her photo being featured in major magazines to walking for big time designers during fashion week, Gisele has officially made her mark. I first met Gisele when I was working for Patricia Field a few years back, I worked with her extensively when it came to styling and dressing her for the Patricia Field art fashion show. Since then I've seen her every season when she walks The Blonds shows, one of the designers I work with. She's perfect for their brand, tall and thin with perfectly defined facial features as well as an edge that draws every eye in the house. I can't wait to see where the world takes this one, I'm sure she's going to do even greater things!
